History

1961 Began manufacturing injection molding machines at the Nagoya Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, LTD., through technological cooperation with NATOCO (National Automatic Tool Company) of the USA.
1967 Manufacturing of large-size machines (800 ton machines and larger) was moved to the Kobe Shipyard and Machinery Works.
1968 Founded the Buir Masehinenbau GmbH in West Germany to facilitate sales in the European market.
1971 Developed the MV series equipped with an IC control unit.
1975 Manufacturing of large-size machines (800 ton machines and larger) was moved from the Kobe Shipyard and Machinery Works to the Nagoya Machinery Works.
1976 Technological cooperation with the NATOCO ended. Original development began.
MD series was developed.
1980 Introduced the MF series equipped with microcomputer control unit.
1984 The MS series was developed to meet the increased demand for small-size machines.
Service & Technical Centers (STC) were opened in Nagoya, Omiya, and Sendai cities.
1986 Introduced the easy-to-handle MG series.
1987 A Service & Technical Center (STC) was opened in Suita city (Kansai region).
Manufacturing of ultra-large-size machines was consigned to the Kobe Shipyard and Machinery Works.
1989 The MMS Company was founded to facilitate sales in the USA market.
Introduced the MM series.
1990 Introduced the MSS series.
1991 Acquired large-size manufacturing equipment, and canceled the ultra-large-size machine manufacturing agreement with the Kobe Shipyard and Machinery Works.
1993 Introduced the MMII series.
1995 Introduced the MMIII series.
1996 The MMS Company in the USA changed its name to MIMM.
1997 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries created 6 new regional sales companies, and sales of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries injection molding machines was divided and consolidated.
1998 Introduced the MMG and MSG series.
1999 Introduced the ME series medium-size motorized injection molding machine.
2000 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Nagoya Machinery Works was reorganized with the Industrial Machinery Division.
2001 Introduced the medium-size (650ton, 850ton) motorized “em” series.
2002 Introduced the large-size (1050ton, 1450ton) “em” series. Began cooperation with Toyo Machinery & Metal Co., LTD. to promote overseas sales of fully motorized small-size injection molding machines.
2003 Introduced the MEII medium-size motorized injection molding machine.
2004 The injection molding machine divisions of the regional sales companies were consolidated with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Industrial Machinery Sales Co., LTD.
Introduced the ultra-large-size (3000ton) “em” series.
2005 The injection molding business division was detached from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to form Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Plastic Technology Co., LTD., a new company that consolidates injection molding related design, manufacturing, sales, and service in a single company.
2006 The super-sized electric injection molding machine “3000em-470” won the special award of “Industrial Design Awards”.
2008 Introduced the large-sized electrical co-injection molding machine, “emR series”.
2010 Opened the trial center for co-injection molding.
2011 Established the collaboration with Chen Hsong Group (Hong Kong) regarding large-sized hydraulic injection molding machine.
2012 Introduced the energy saving large-sized injection molding machine, “MMX series”. Introduced the injection molding machine for light guiding plate, “emP series”.
2015 Introduced the MEIII medium-size motorized injection molding machine.
2017 Integrated the injection molding machine business with UBE Machinery Corporation and altered our corporate name to U-MHI PLATECH CO.,LTD.
